Davidson's extensive effort documented a Harlem neighborhood with the help of a cumbersome, large-format view camera, radically different equipment from the handy little 35mm jobs his peers were using. The result is a lot of posed photos that somehow work, although Parr & Badger find the nudes jarring. Wraps age toning, beginning to pull from spine. Leaves clean and tight, age-toning at edges. Images fine.
