FIBBLETON, GEORGE [Asa Greene]. Travels in America, New York: William Pearson, 1833. 12mo, first edition, pp. 216, original purple cloth boards (new browned). The author claimed to be "Ex-Barber to His Majesty" but was actually a physician who became a bookseller, according to Sabin 28585. See also Howes G376. This book is a satire on Isaac Fidler's "Travels in America," reporting on such absurd spectacles as swine-pulled stagecoaches on Broadway in New York. Condition of this book: Ex-library, boards worn, losses at spine ends, upper panel missing a small chunk of cloth. Leaves clean and tight, not much foxing.
