Folio, one of 800 copies printed privately, pp. xx, 379, 2 (errata, limitation page), 7 color plates under tissue guards with printed captions, blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine and cover, with slipcase, top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, halftone photos. The author was an heir to the Vanderbilt fortune. William Belanske, the artist who created the plates here, was staff artist at the American Museum of Natural History when Vanderbilt hired him. Vanderbilt says the trip chronicled here was "the first circumnavigation of the globe under the United States Naval Reserve yacht pennant." Condition of this book: Fine in very good slipcase
